X-Rays

(Conventional radiography)

Conventional radiography remains the cornerstone of modern radiology. The most frequently performed studies include skeletal x-rays to assess bones and joints, chest radiographs to image the heart, major blood vessels, lungs and rib cage, and the intravenous pyelogram (IVP) to produce detailed images of the urinary tract, from kidneys to bladder. These various studies are simple, safe and cost effective.
Ascot Radiology has recently converted to Digital Radiography (DX). This means that all x-rays taken are viewed instantly and are then stored on our computer system. It also allows images to be sent electronically to specialists within the hospital. We no longer print x-ray images but will offer patients their images on a CD to take with them.

All images at Ascot Radiology are reported promptly and abnormal results are discussed with the referring clinician and the patient is advised when appropriate.
